triv Retro-computer quiz Series

zx Spectriv II

A fun packed quiz based on games for the iconic Sinclair ZX Spectrum and a must for retro-computing fans everywhere.  Built using information and images from www.spectrumcomputing.co.uk,  available for Android devices (version 6 onwards). ZX SpecTriv II will test your knowledge of ZX Spectrum gaming with two ‘Action Game’ set categories and a third set dedicated to ‘Adventure and Board Games’. Each category has three difficulty levels for you to progress through on your trip through the golden era of the ZX Spectrum when 48k memory was more than enough and 256×192 was high resolution.

You have 150 seconds to answer 15 questions in each game. Each difficulty level is unlocked by answering all 15 questions correctly in a preceding level game within the category.

ZX SpecTriv II has a set of high score tables.  Two high score tables are maintained for each category of quiz, one for the high scores on your device and another for the world high scores.  You can of course choose not to submit your high scores.

There are comprehensive settings which can be altered by the player for sound, music and which tables you would like to submit your scores to (World, Device or not at all).

zx81triv II

If ever there was a computer that could out-iconise the Sinclair ZX Spectrum then the Sinclair ZX81 must be a strong contender.  Built using information and images from www.zx81stuff.org.uk (our thanks to the owners) and available for Android devices (version 6 onwards). ZX81Triv II will test your knowledge of ZX81 software with three categories (programs beginning with 0-F, G-O and P-Z respectively). Each category has three difficulty levels for you to progress through on your trip through the monochrome but charisma filled world of ZX81 software.  The quiz covers lots of different types of programs including action games, text adventures, board games and even business applications which were used on both the standard 1k ZX81 and with the ‘massive’ 16k memory pack.

You have 150 seconds to answer 15 questions in each game. Each difficulty level is unlocked by answering all 15 questions correctly in a preceding level game within the category.
